Family-friendly heritage sites

It’s a great idea to discover cultural and natural heritage while having fun as a family!

From sites like the château to the Heritage Museum, and from guided tours to the Petit Train, here are a few suggestions to help young and old make the most of their visit to Grimaud.

1. The treasures of Grimaud

Game booklet

Discover the “Trésor de Grimaud” (Treasures of Grimaud) game booklet. Children (aged 7 to 11) can set off to find the treasure while exploring the village in a fun way.
There are riddles, charades to guess and hidden markers to find along the way.

The aim is to solve each riddle to decipher the secret message and win a surprise!
Price: €4.50 (booklet + surprise) – Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
Available from the village Tourist Office.

2. The Heritage Museum

The museum houses a collection of Provençal objects from centuries gone by. Find out how our ancestors lived, what jobs they did, what they wore…
There are two fun tours (30 or 45 minutes) to take the whole family back to the Grimaud of yesteryear, through all the rooms of the heritage museum to learn more and have fun at the same time.

3. Orienteering course

With the game-booklet to guide you, orienteering is another way of combining heritage exploration for adults with fun for children.

There are four routes through the village, without necessarily getting into race mode, of course.
Younger children will be able to look for the hidden markers in all the places to visit in the village.

4. Le Petit Train de Grimaud

Let’s talk about the Little Train! Connecting the old village of Grimaud with the coastal town of Port Grimaud, the Petit Train takes you between the two sites, with an audio commentary to tell the story of Grimaud.

The Petit Train is a fun adventure that teaches you more about our village.

5. Le Conservatoire du Freinet

A favourite outside Grimaud

A few kilometres from Grimaud, in La Garde Freinet, you’ll find the Freinet Heritage Conservatory.
Many activities are on offer all year round, combining heritage and nature (treasure hunts in the village or on the hill, archaeological workshops, etc.).

The perfect opportunity to discover the resources and riches of the Massif des Maures while having fun.
