In the summer season
When summer arrives, it brings with it blooming bougainvilleas.
And what a wonder! The edifices of the old village are then adorned with a purple cloak tailored to decorate the doors and windows of the houses.

Some bougainvilleas even climb a whole section of the façade. They’re searching for the sun and to sunbathe every time!
It is a beautiful shrub that is often found in the Mediterranean, it is rare to find it in colder regions as it does not withstand frost (a bit like the inhabitants of the south it must be admitted).
Every year, every season, the locals of the old village delight us with their plants that gently blend into the houses and narrow streets.
We call them – “the gardeners of the village”.
It is impossible to miss the bougainvilleas during your visit. The best time to discover them is between late May/July. Sometimes they bloom again after summer as well.
Check out the “bougainvilleas walk” where about thirty shrubs are referenced and admire them in the narrow streets of Grimaud.
