Music to your ears

Musical events

Whether you’re listening to it from afar, enjoying it up close or dancing to it with fervour, it’s impossible to live without music. From classical concerts to more popular sounds and melodic journeys around the world, Grimaud offers a range of musical evenings to suit every taste.

1. Les Grimaldines

What is the Grimaldines festival? Every Tuesday from mid-July to mid-August, Grimaud comes alive with a mix of street performances and one-off concerts at the château.
Whether in the narrow streets of the village or in the grounds of the château, music is everywhere!
The street troupes put on a lively musical show (along with other entertainment), then the artists await you on the château stage for a concert under the stars. Charlie Winston, Earth Wind & Fire, Johnny Clegg, Imany, Fatoumata Diawara and so many other great artists have performed on one of the most iconic stages in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

2. Les Inattendues des Grimaldines

Les Grimaldines… We love them so much that we’ve remixed them for you to enjoy before and after the summer season.
Les Inattendues offers concerts that promise to take you on a trip around the world, as only the Grimaldines festival knows how to do.
In fact, we’re offering you a “dual experience”, as we’re organising these concerts in unusual places. Wine estates, heliports, and more, for offbeat evenings with quality foodtrucks and refreshment stands
So, are you in?

3. Fête de la Musique

You might think we’re going over the top, but… the Fête de la Musique in Grimaud is also an evening that is based around Grimaud!
Every 21st June, we invite you to the castle grounds for a concert and dance, whether it’s African, South American or any other kind of music…
To mark the occasion, a pre-sale ticket will be available on site at a reduced rate for everyone. What better combo than a great concert + a better price for some concerts of artists who will delight your summer evenings?

4. Les Soirées Musicales

Musical evenings in Grimaud

Classical music enthusiasts can look forward to these exceptional evenings throughout the year.
The repertoire performed here showcases exceptional acoustics and musicians who are no less so.
Soirées Musicales welcome great artists in the intimate setting of Grimaud’s sites.
Audiences have been treated to performances by Renaud and Gautier Capuçon, Thibault Cauvin, Ophélie Gaillard, Elsa Grether, Pierre Réach, Paul Meyer and more.

5. Bastille Day Guinguette

The Bastille Day ball is a must for every French person!
Grimaud is no exception to this rule. Every National Holiday, a guinguette (tavern) with a flavour of yesteryear takes place in the village’s Place Neuve. Gingham tablecloths, straw bales, live music and more, the perfect ingredients for celebrating Bastille Day!

6. Village Festival

The village festival is a 3-day celebration that takes place around 15 August. To mark the occasion, there are concerts (and lots of other entertainment) to celebrate Grimaud in style!
Whether it’s on the Place de l’Église, in the grounds of the Notre-Dame de la Queste chapel or under the bandstand on the Place Neuve, everything’s ready for you to get your groove on.

7. Plage de Rock

Since 2006, the Plage de Rock summer concerts at the Prairies de la Mer have been bringing the young people of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez to their feet.
Every evening, the crowd of aficionados get up and dance, and they wouldn’t miss this opportunity to get away from it all with some carefully-chosen, high-quality music.

Metronomy, Balthazar, L’Impératrice, Meute and Requin Chagrin have all graced the Plage de Rock stage.

8. Jazz concerts

On fine evenings during the summer months, the Culture and Heritage department invites you to jazz evenings in the grounds of the Notre-Dame de la Queste chapel.
Jazz is timeless and this evening offers both a relaxing experience and a moment of dancing to the sound of brass instruments.
There are refreshments and snacks on site to complete the experience, so don’t hesitate to come along!

9. After Beach (restaurant) evenings

From mid-spring to early autumn, locals and visitors alike meet up 6 nights a week at the After Beach event (la Halle de Grimaud).

Why do they do this? Like a modern guinguette (tavern), this place is renowned for treating you both to music and barbecued food. Here, you can dance barefoot and eat with your fingers (almost!) in a relaxed atmosphere where all ages mingle and have fun under the glow of the lanterns.
