Sporting events

A number of sporting events take place in Grimaud throughout the year, both to watch and to take part in. Sailing, golf, running, etc. Find out more!

1. Golf competitions

Whether at the traditional Beauvallon golf course or at Golf Up, which offers golf that is accessible to all, numerous competitions take place throughout the year.
For juniors and seniors, beginners and experts!
The two golf courses come together on 1 May for the Grimaud Golf Trophy, where several competitions take place at each course.
So, do you feel like trying out your swing or just watching?

2. Pétanque

What would the south of France be without pétanque? Often seen as a “relaxing sport”, it can become very serious and a ruler may be produced to avoid any disputes!
Try to achieve a “carreau” (the perfect shot), “pointer” (the shot closest to the jack), or “mener le bouchon” (shoot the jack out of the game)… and all with a southern French accent and good humour! La Boule Grimaudoise organises tournaments in summer and winter for enthusiasts and anyone who wants to try their hand at this fine Provençal sport.

3. Hubside Jumping

At the foot of Grimaud, on the plain, some of the world’s greatest show jumping competitions are held.
On numerous weekends before and after the summer, Hubside Jumping invites you to discover the passion of the riders and their mounts. You’ll come across international, European and even Olympic champions!
There’s free access and parking, as well as entertainment, stalls and a food court, so you’re sure to have a great time.

4. Gulf of Saint Tropez Marathon

The last sunday in March

Here’s a day to surpass yourself! Will you dare to take up the challenge and run the 42.195km marathon?
Alone or in teams of 2 or more: there’s a format to suit all those who love running.
If, like some of us, you prefer to watch: no problem! The marathon crosses the 12 communes of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, so there are plenty of places to cheer on all the participants.

5. Boat races

What better place to enjoy sailing competitions than the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, bordered by the Mediterranean?

The Port Grimaud Yacht Club organises several races throughout the year, including the Trophée de la Ville de Grimaud.

6. Sports festival

Early September

With the start of the new school year, it’s time for young and old alike to choose their sport!
Take advantage of this half-day opportunity to meet Grimaud’s sports clubs, try out the sports and have fun with the activities and games on offer.
